Active Directory Restore

Dear All,

Please i have a backup of the system state of my computer and i'm trying to restore either the complete system state or just the active directory alone, but both are not successful.

Firstly i tried restoring the system on a computer i just installed Windows 2008 on but the  restore was just moved to a folder on my C drive.

Secondly i tried the active directory and its still not working.

I currently use Symantec Backup Exec 2012 pls can anyone help.
