Using BE or NBU to backup data that is encrypted with Symantec PGP Universal Server( Drive and Folder option)

We have BE 2012 R2 installed in our environment. We would like to implement Symantec PGP Universal Server( Drive and Folder option). From what I read there are alot of issues with backing up the encrypted data done by PGP. Can anyone confirm this? Also does the same apply for NBU?
