I have the following setup:
IBM Server running Windows Server 2008 R2
IBM TS2900 tape autoloader 3572 S5H loaded with LTO 4 and 5 tapes. Storage tab shows "Tape Drive 0001 (No Media)", device manager shows "LTO Tape drive". Screen grab below.

I have used the Configure Storage wizard multiple times to get Symantec drivers installed on the system. Sometimes it will show up correctly in Device Manager, and sometimes it will show as LTO Tape drive. No matter what it says, BE will not complete an inventory. Each inventory operation runs for <10 seconds and shows as successful. I spoke with Symantec support on this matter and they advised to contact the manufacturer, but everything I know about this product suggests that you are to only use the Symantec drivers.
Live update reports that the application is current.
I'm reinstalling the IBM driver to see if that helps. Rebooting the server as I type this.
Any help with this issue will be appreciated.
** This is not a production server, but it is scheduled to be moved into prod later this week. I'd like to have backups operational before I move this one into prod.
