How to Add a Non Hyper-V VM into Backup Exec 2014

I have a question and that is how exactly do you add a VM (Non-Hyper-V) and installed the backup agent onto backup exec 2014 without having to add the EXSI host.

Would I have to manually installed the backup agent on the Vm and allow Backup Exec 2014 to detect it by itself?
