Import/Export/Scan

Hi

Up until today i didn't full understand those fetures.

Until now, This is what i did :

• When i wanted to add new tapes (with barcoade) to the auto-loader i would stop the services, insert the tapes, start services and run Inventory.
• When i wanted to add tapes that the BE database already knew (tapes that i was using with BE and the auto-loader, and then was removed and now inserted again)- i would stop services, insert the tapes, and start services.
• When i wanted to remove tapes from the auto-loader, i would stop services, remove the tapes, and start the services.
• When i wanted to import tapes that were used on diffrent server with a diffrent install of BE - i would stop the services, insert the tapes, start the services and run Catalog opreation on those tapes.

What are the Import/Export/Scan operation for? should i use those instaed of what i did up until now?
